Policies of The Rabbit & Cavy Directory

Purposes:

This website was developed to promote rabbit and cavy breeders by offering a place on the world wide web where they can list their rabbitry or caviary information. 

Our other goal is to promote each and every rabbit and cavy breed and provide breed information and pictures to encourage others to join in our rabbit/cavy breeding hobby.

Breeder Listings:

Information contained in listings is submitted by individual rabbit and cavy breeders.  We do not take listings off other sites or add listings without the breeder's approval.

Listings accepted for publication include:

  • rabbit and cavy breeders who raise, breed or show for fancy or commercial use

  • all rabbit and cavy breeders - we do not select or discriminate based upon personal rabbit/cavy-raising beliefs, breed, country of origin or success in showing, breeding or web design.

  • those who supply complete listing information as we request on our Submit page

  • breeders who have websites and those who don't have websites, but have an alternate form of contact that can be published on this site.

Listings that may be denied publication or removed from the directory include:

  • listings that do not pertain to rabbit and cavy breeding, showing or commercial use

  • listing requests sent to us that do not contain adequate information

  • listings that imply or claim allegiance with any animal-rights organization

  • websites that contain profanity, perverse reference of, or displays of sex or violence

  • websites or email address that return error messages and/or are inaccessible

  • websites that are under major construction or are so poorly-designed as to not be usable

  • breeders who plagiarize, or who provide false information/credit for rabbits and cavies pictured

  • any listing of breeders who I feel do not represent our rabbit/cavy breeder community well

  • websites advertising 'entire herd sellout' or stating the breeder is, or will soon, be going out of business

Privacy Information

Personal breeder information is posted throughout this website and may include:

  • Rabbitry or caviary name

  • Breeder's name, full or partial as supplied in request

  • State/city/region address of rabbitry or caviary

  • email address

  • phone number if supplied in breeder's request

  • Other rabbitry or caviary information as supplied in breeder's request, which may include; a listing of rabbit and cavy breeds and varieties raised, club memberships and promotional statements.

The Rabbit & Cavy Directory will not give out any other personal information, without the breeder's permission, other than what is contained in your listing.  (example; if you provided your home address with your request, we will not post it on this site, nor will we release it to others without your direct permission).

We do not make, sell or supply 'lists' of breeders or their email addresses, to any third party, but we cannot stop someone from taking email addresses and other info off our website. 

The Rabbit & Cavy Directory will refer rabbit and cavy inquiries to specific breeders within the directory, this is one of the purposes of this directory!

We will not send you unsolicited emails except for the purposes of;

  • verifying your listing or making/requesting updates or corrections, and

  • requesting reciprocal linking to our site, and

  • to inquire about available stock

You may remove your listing from our directory at any time by emailing The Rabbit & Cavy Directory with this request.  Please allow up to seven (7) days, after we receive your request,  for us to remove your listing.
