Pictures

June 14, 2006 - please do not sent any more pictures at this time!  I am severely backlogged with hundreds of pictures and very little time.  I'd like to get caught up with all the pictures I already have before I consider more!  Thanks for your understanding.   Cathy

We would like to display pictures of all the colors/varieties of each breed - check the Breed Gallery before you send pictures-please don't send colors/varieties we already have unless the animal is an excellent representative of it's color.

For the sake of providing viewers with accurate and helpful information - please follow the guidelines below.  Pictures can be emailed to us, our email link is at the bottom of this page.

1) Please send only pictures of purebred rabbits and cavies that nicely represent their breed- some viewers may rely on these pictures for breed or color identification!

2) We prefer pictures of rabbits and cavies in proper show pose, but will consider other poses, especially if the picture is a good representative of a color.  Baby or young animal pictures are also appreciated-especially of breeds where the young develop into a different adult color.

3) Due to viewing limitations on the internet, please send high quality pictures only - all pictures should be clear, distinct, accurately colored, with backgrounds that do not overshadow the subject!  Ideally, pictures you send should be in jpeg format250 pixels in width (no smaller) and already be optimized to between 72-96 dpi  (I can do this if you can't).  I can also scan your photos if you mail them to me - email to get my mailing address.

4) Provide full identification for each picture!  I am not an expert on breeds or colors - you must clearly state the BREED and COLOR of each animal.  If you want the *animal's name listed - please include it, along with the full pedigree/breeder prefix.  And lastly, I need your name/rabbitry name to post credit to you for the picture!  (if you are not already in our directory - please sign up-it's free!)

5) Depending upon my schedule, I try to update daily, but if you don't see your pictures within a week, please send me a quick email just in case I didn't receive your original one.

Articles and Breed Descriptions

Articles written by experienced breeders and rabbit and cavy enthusiasts are often an excellent source of information for other breeders, pet owners or youth.  We ask that you send only original information or provide credit for information you've obtained elsewhere.

Articles in The Breeder Directory should pertain to specific breeds, clubs, state/regions.  General articles that do not pertain to a specific breed (such as articles on general care, etc) will be considered for publication in our other rabbit and cavy website, LaReau Lops & Cavies.

We are still looking for breed descriptions for several rabbit and cavy breeds!  If you are considering sending one in - we'd like a detailed and accurate description of the breed to include a short history, physical characteristics of the breed, and specific info that will promote the breed  (why should readers choose this breed?).

Simply email your article to us, and please include how you want us to list credit for the article (your name or rabbitry name, and perhaps a short description of yourself- ex. rabbit breeder for 10 years

Links Page/Exchange

Our Links page contains helpful information for rabbit and cavy owners - if you would like the link to your business or website included, please email us with the info - if your link is appropriate for this website, we'll include it in the proper category and we do appreciate a reciprocal link back to us - Instructions for linking to RCD
