Outdated and Moved URL links

A few days ago I began the task of removing old, broken or moved links from our directory. Visitors do not enjoy clicking on links in anticipation of visiting a rabbitry or caviary online, only to end up at a 'page not found' or other dead end.

Some breeders also change their website hosts.....a few let me know of these changes and also update their listing at the same time. Others I just find by browsing.

At first, I made the url change to these listings (the ones I found by browsing) but then decided to delete these from the directory because when I look at the new website I usually find that most of their listing info has changed in addition to their url. I do not want to guess at what someone's new listing should say - so these breeders will have to resubmit a new listing.

The breeders that send me a change request with all their updated info will still have their updated listing remain in the directory.

New Listings today

This morning I added several new listings, but since we are heading off for the rabbit show at Dane County Fair, and running late...I won't have time to review these new listings.

Take a look at our scrolling announcement box on our home page for the names and please visit these breeders!

New Breeder Listings added July 19

This morning was the first morning I've been able to add new breeder listings or work on listing updates since I made the new states/countries pages for this website.

I have a backlog of probably 20 or so new listings and changes to get to now.....I'll start with the oldest-received emails and work my way up to current emails, putting a few in each morning as my time allows. I hope to be completely caught up within two weeks.

Today our new breeders listings are:

Delightful Acres Rabbitry has a premium listing in our directory. Beth Churchya runs this Lionhead rabbitry located in Virginia. She raises a lot of different colors!

Katie Schultz owns Katie's Pocket Pals in Massachusetts, where she raises Netherland Dwarfs and Holland Lops. Katie has a premium listing in our directory.

A nice website with lots of 4-H rabbit info is Kendall White and the Netherland Dwarfs. Kendall White has a premium listing for her Idaho rabbitry, where she raises Netherland Dwarfs and Jersey Woolies.

From Wisconsin, we added a standard listing for Kortbein's Rabbitry owned by Thersesa Kortbein. She raises Mini Lops and Dutch and is also an ARBA Registrar.

Mandi Read sent in a standard listing for her rabbitry, Angelic Hares Rabbitry.

That's it for today...off to the Dane Co. Jr. Fair!

Finished with website update!

This morning I finished with my website update - added all the new state and country pages. Because we are getting ready for a fair I don't have time to check all the pages for correct links and such so it would help if you'd let me know if you find a mistake or broken link!

Tomorrow I will start working on the backlog of breeder listing updates followed by new listings....I'm sure it will take me a week or so before I am caught up. Please be patient, if you sent your listing in, I'll eventually get to it, then email you with confirmation.

I hope you enjoy our new pages and updates! Let me know if you have an interesting link about raising rabbits or cavies in your state.

Not Quite Finished....

Well, today is Monday and I am not quite finished with the new pages in our directory. Oh I made all the pages and they are ready, it is just a matter of finishing all the linking between all the new pages and a new State/Country menu page. This is the tedious work....yuk, blah...but I'll be finished in a day or two. What is the point of all the new pages if you can't get to them?

I now have a lot of new breeder listings to put in and also many updates to current listings - I'll start with these as soon as I am finished with the linking of the new pages.

Back to my paying job for now.......

Changes to our directory almost done!

Last week, I decided to break each ARBA District page into a separate state or country page - as the current pages were growing soooo large and becomming slow to load.

During this construction, I am unable to update our directory or add any new listings because I cannot publish the current pages while I am breaking them apart!

As of this morning, I only have 10 more state/country pages to make, from ARBA District 9! These pages have taken a lot of work to make....each will include links that will be helpful to rabbit and cavy breeders, such as; state website links, legislature links (I hope all breeders will become more active in the battle to retain our rabbit and cavy breeder rights) plus travel, 4-H and other handy links.

I've been receiving many new breeder listings and also listing update requests during this past week - I will get all of your requests done as soon as I finish this major website change. If all goes well, I'll publish these new pages by Sunday and then begin putting all the new listings and listing changes in!

BREEDERS: I am also looking for information on rabbit and cavy clubs and shows, in your state or country, to list on your state or country's page! Please email information to me.

Well, thanks for visiting and I hope you'll enjoy our expanded directory

Independance Day!

This morning I added 2 new premium breeder listings:

DandyLion Farm is a Lionhead rabbitry in Salina, Kansas owned by Kayla Wegner. A small rabbitry also just starting out with Holland Lops.

Tamara McCuistion owns a caviary in Oregon named Willamette Valley Caviary. She raises Americans and American Satins in a variety of colors. She also raises Mini Rex rabbits.

I also added a few standard listings this morning; Sommerhauser's Rabbitry and Hop'n Lops. You can visit our directory for complete listing info for these new listings.

Also, a few updates and changes were made to a few listings: Roobie's Rabbit Tree is now raising Cinnamons and Californians in addition to her Harlequins and Tans. P&P Rabbitry linked to our site and now has an upgraded premium listing too!

I hope your Independance Day celebration is a safe one!
